Vauxhall Astravan 1.7 Z17DTL 2003 - Cuts out while idling # Archived Message

    Hi All,
Turning into a tricky one this:-
Trade customer first looked at vehicle and found metal particles in fuel system. cleaned tank, pipes etc. Fitted new high pressure pump, fuel filter and had the injectors serviced.
Vehicle still had the same fault, cuts out while driving, can be quite soon or after a considerable distance. One code, P1335 Cam/crank correlation, is logged occasionally but not always.
Customer fitted another belt kit (genuine) and double checked the cam timing.
Looking at live data while idling and it cuts out the rpm data seems to wind down rather than stop and the fuel pressure seems to spike slightly before dropping as if the ECM is seeing the engine slow down and is trying to increase injection duration/pressure to compensate for it.
I am having some difficulties in getting good data as the Multiscan only believes this engine code was fitted to the Astra-H!
It usually starts again straight away but not always.
Thinking of advising replacement of cam/crank sensor but would like to have something a little more solid to go on.
My other thought was the good old dashboard communication problem with the immobiliser but there are no dashboard glitches or fault codes to support this and I don't think that would stop the engine once it was running anyway.
    Any ideas, Shaun
