Nissan X-Trail DCi 2004 - Poor running and starting # Archived Message

Posted by Peter Holland on November 5, 2009, 6:54 am

This car is a sod to start and runs rough when it does. Checking the archive here, I see that cam tensioners are a problem, but the garage is convinced its the MAF sensor. I've never experienced a failed MAF sensor causing poor starting!

    Theres no fault codes stored.

    MAF @ idle 1.6v and 3.4v @ 3000 RPM (?). It peaks at around 4.5v

EGR test shows air volume @ 0 steps (closed) is 500 m/g and 244 m/g at 52 steps - which appears to be fully open.

I've got no live data to compare these readings with. Can anyone help.

There also seems to be a lot of induction roar, which is why I was checking the EGR opetration.
