Loads of possibilities on these:- Oil in loom. Main and fuel pump relay problems. Clogged fuel filter (fuel goes through pump twice on these, which would explain the pump noise). Blowing injector seals (putting combustion gasses into fuel lines, which would also explain the pump noise). Check for grey fuel. Electrical noise from starter motor affecting crank sensor. Will start promptly if given a bump start. That's just for a start! Shaun.
