BMW X5 E53 3.0d 2003 - Oil pressure low, warning light on after long drive #Archived Message

Hi all Got a problem with oil pressure on this x5 3.0d it seems to put the warning light on after a long drive or towing only at idle.We replaced the switch with an oe one. Checked the pressure at 90c got 1.0bar at idle and 4.0bar at 3000rpm if you hold the engine at 2000rpm it reads 2.0bar Spec i have read from bmw is a bit vague 0.5 to 4.2bar. Only had one of these apart through flood damage not oil pressure problems. Hope someone can help Andy lees
