Car stopped and would not restart.
Customer believes that he ran out of fuel, (I cannot confirm this since he had put 3 gallons in the tank before I saw vehicle)
The recovery driver tried (unsucessfully) to bleed system. I fitted a primer bulb and was still unable to restart.
Now.
There is clearly some sort of history since a non-return valve has been fitted. I cannot tell whether the car stopped because it had run out of fuel or because of some other problem. I have some other things to check first (it needs a new starter for one) BUT what I am needing to know for now is..
a) I understand that P1631(3) refers to a lack of comms between ECU and Pump. Is this correct?
b) I understand that a S/H pump will be "Plug N Play" (IE no coding required) Is this correct?
c) I seem to be getting healthy fuel flow at injector unions, but with insufficent presure to actually inject (dry glowplugs) is this consistant with coms failure (EG Some sort of internal electronicaly controlled valve that is preventing presure build up) or Does this indicate that there is some other problem (Still air in system, Mechanically FUBAR'd etc) which is certainly possible since the starter is real slow!
