    Hi Paul,
    Yes, I found the problem, although it was on a Vectra 1.9cdti with 150bhp engine.
    The Linkage that connects to the intake manifold flaps had detatched itself under the inlet manifold.This can`t be seen at all, but you can check it this way:-
    If you look at the topside of the intake manifold just back from where the manifold meets the cyl. head, you will see a flat metal bar 1/4" wide approx. that is connected to what looks like rubber grommets, if you grip the bar with long nose pliers, try and move it left to right, if it moves freely this will be where the problem lies.
    Another way of checking is get someone to start engine and rev it afew times, you should see the metal bar move lef to right as it revs.
    If this is where your problem is, the intake manifold does not need to come off to rectify,
