    Don't be thrown off the scent by the 'out of sync' message. Most HDi's say this when running as they only check sync when starting. I've seen a few ECT's go faulty and the ECU will substitute a value although I would expect a code to be logged. These engines are also fussy about fuel quality - use V power or similar and engine oil - I use the Total ECS 5/30 from the dealers. One last idea is to check clutch switch on top of pedal. They sometimes break their locating pin which affects driveability (alters fuel pressure according to gear selected).
