Mondeo TDCI 2005 huge flat spot and smoking Archived Message

    mondeo week this week,
car drives fine around normal roads will accelerate hard to 6k no probs only thing i would say is that on light load acceleration it sounds a bit noisy as though timing could be slightly retarded. but put it down the motorway and it's a different car. As you get above 40 but normally over 55 as you are just getting to a cruising speed where you would be holding the throttle steady it develops a huge flat spot and fills the m way with blue smoke. if you back off and accelerate again the power may come back, or it may stay flat until the car is down to around 30 or it may jump back to full power then instantly loose power again then get power again, this action throws you back and forth in the seat.
It will do it every time on the m-way for most of the journey. if i set off on the m-way and increase acceleration very very slowly i can almost drive around the problem. if i gear down then try accelerating big flat spot.
have removed and cleaned EGR vac type.
have blocked vac feed to EGR.
have blocked vac pipe to turbo actuator.
    have changed cam sensor
    have re coded all injectors
    all makes no difference.
have checked all turbo boost pipes no splits nothing loose.
no fault codes are ever flagged
no air mass on this model

    any ideas welcomed
    cheers
    dave
