This is a lease vehicle that we haven`t seen before, but iv`e rang the company to get some history, in march this year it had a set of glow plugs & a new cam sensor, previous to this just general servicing & repairs.

The driver who uses it now has only just started working for the company who leases the vehicle & the fault was present when he received the vehicle.

Fault - The car starts fine from cold (1st thing in morning) but no throttle response for the first 10 seconds, just idles slightly lower than normal, then the idle picks up to normal & throttle response returns, but when warm very difficult to start (extended cranking) 30/40/50 seconds.

once started the car drives fine, no lack of performance.

Fault code read using multi diag & acr4 - no faults present Checked live data when cranking 230 -250 bar hot & cold, engine speed signal present. Coolant temp ,cylinder head & air intake sensor outputs correspond. Carried out leak off check of injectors with engine running but not while cranking inj/ disconnected as yet

Iv`e also programmed injector correction factors as matter of course. Iv`e scoped cam & crank sensor outputs they seem fine but iv`e no good traces to compare from a matched vehicle until tomorrow. Iv`e also checked the voltage from the rail sensor, .5v ign on .7v cranking 1.2V idle, this seems to verify the live data rail pressure readings.

The only thing which is strange if you disconnect the cyl head temp sensor the vehicle starts okay/ reconnect back to poor starting.

Any other thoughts from the more experienced would be great.

    regards stu
