Hi Mark. I wonder if It was caused by the overheating. ?? CHT sensor. ???

I still think it would have been more reliable reading with The Dealer tool.

i,e Today we have had a 2.4 Duratorque transit in logging several fault codes due to having an engine fitted, and the wiring harness being trapped between the bell housing and engine, damaging the crank sensor wires and then logging fault codes for Crank sensor and pump timing control etc.

A friend popped in and decided to give us a hand as he had an hour to spare, so he plugged Both the Snapon Scanner and Launch into it and got p0167 ( i think that was the code no ) and the description on Snapon was 02 sensor heater circuit.

and The Launch went one better and described it as 02 sensor bank 1 sensor 3.

its ok on something fairly obvious like this but how much trouble can it cause by giving a wrong description on something more complicated when it isn't so obvious that the fault is total coblers. ????

Conclusion Most aftermarket equipment is more trouble than it is worth.
