Hi I got some feed back from the diesel shop, who had spoke to a contact at local Iveco dealer, It appears that the new solenoid / immobilizer is supplied OPEN, so vehicles runs OK, but needs programing before it will work as an immbilizer, this is the reason for the logged fault. This does make sense because it will start with known un programmed key ( that key sets a key fault code as well ). The diesel shop & us had assumed that this would self match, like the ford unit, this was incorrect. I am told that this will work indefinitely in its OPEN state, but something is ringing a bell that I have heard of some systems locking out after so many starts if not programmed, can any one confirm this ether way ? I will advise the customer to book in with dealer but would be interesting to know how urgent this is. Thanks Aidan
