Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 HDi - Starts and cuts out, will not re-start # Archived Message

    Hi all,

I would appreciate some input on this one,

    Suzuki Grand Vitara
    MY 2000
    2.0 HDi Pug engine
EDC15C2 with separate texton immo box.

This starts and runs for anything up to 10 seconds. When it cuts out it will not restart unless the ign is switched off, even for a second. It will restart every time the ign is cycled.
Every time it is started it logs an immo code in the engine module. If it is switched off before it cuts out it will not log any other code but if it is allowed to run until it cuts it then logs a fuel pressure code along with the immo code. Pre supply pressure has been tested at 2.5bar. It has had HP Pump and pre supply Pump fitted before I got it. In live data it shows fuel pressure at anything from 350 to 500bar which does not drop until after it cuts. Ok, I know we are talking about nearly live data and it cant really be trusted to show what is happening in real time.
If I unplug the reader coil it cranks but will not start, not even for a few seconds. This makes me think it is not a simple immo fault. But why the immo code?

As yet I have not figured out why it stops. I will probably need to scope fuel pressure sensor, reg, injectors etc. I cant tell from live data what is cutting it.

    Any thoughts?

    TIA

    Alan
