Renault Clio 1.9D 2000 - Non runner , EGR code, Flywheel signal, Fuel flow adjustment # Archived Message

Vehicle is basically a non-runner although it can occasionally be coaxed into life for a few seconds.
This has the Lucas DCU3R system on it.
Fault codes as read by Texa:
EGR valve, Flywheel signal, OBD, Fuel flow adjustment
When reset the only codes that came back were
Fuel flow adjustment and occasionally the flywheel signal
I got a good rpm signal on live data when cranked.
When doing actuator tests the fuel amount adjuster solenoid A buzzed but when doing the same with solenoid B it only clicked in at the start and out at the end. So believing the pump to be at fault I fitted a new pump (or got a friend to). Still no better. Did a full continuity check on all wiring, no problems found.
Thinking now that the fault may be ECU but it's another £528,is there anybody who can test/repair these units? Talked to ATP and they don't and they also don't have enough enquiries to think about starting.
Are there any common problems with this system?
I got it running at one point held about 2k rpm for about ten seconds and it slowly dropped in about 500rpm steps until it stopped.

Sorry for long post, trying to give as much info as possible.

    Shaun
