    I agree with the diag comment. These are way to primative for that. Clogged inlet tract or maybe a badly adjusted inlet butterfly maybe?

    If this is the type I think it is, then there will be an aluminium blanking plug on a unit to the top left (as you look at the pump). Remove the blanking plug & slacken the 13mm lock nut, wind the 4mm allen key in 2 turn & lock the 13mm nut. You need to hold the 13mm nut still whilst adjusting the allen screw. It will make sense when you do it.

    This adjustment can bring new life to an old 2.5Di But can blow em to kingdom come if they are tired, so be warned!!

    Make a note of the original position in case you want to put it back to its former state.
