Trying to help a college with this,his partners vehicle no less. His night mare started simple enough with the wiper rack siezing,so second hand motor fitted ,wipers now working ,but engine cranks but on start and display reads immobilizer fault. So he plugs in to BSI and there,s 17 or more codes for what appears all the body systems including immobilizer he try,s to re-match keys to ECU /BSi ect on go ,comes to conclusion BSI damaged but won,t buy a new one but instead buys a new "free to run " ECU .Now engine starts,but it seems to be electronically limited to 2368 RMP there is a code in the engine ECU which pertains to the pairing of ECU to bsi,is obviously can,t be ceared,ANY IDEAS please.i swear this lad has aged 10 years this week .
