Year of Manufacture: 2015
Engine Size and Code: 1.6 DV6ETED (9HN)
( Optional) Fault Codes: P1445
the van belongs to one of our fleet customers and was running OK prior to belt failure.
we put a new belt on it for the 1 in a hundred chance that it would work again , and did a relative compression test and it looked good ..
We started it up and it ran, at idle it sounded good but Rev it up it sounded hollow and was making a pinking sounding noise and would not even pull away, data pids for cam and crank sync were good and fuel pressure was as specified so we thought no more and striped it down assuming something must be at least a bit bent.
surprisingly every thing looked fine the pistons had whiteness marks from exhaust valve contact but you had to look hard to see them.
so we put the head back together with new exhaust valves and lapped in all inlet and exhaust.
the whole thing is back together and it runs like junk. just like before
there is only a P1445 CODE which relates to the dpf being at 100% full
its so bad that it has filled the dpf in 45 mins of idle
cranking compression is 380 psi per cylinder
timing is ok and the cam /crank data pid confirms
this
the EGRhas been disconnected / blanked off to rule it out
the injectors have been tested and they came back all good
crank sensor scopes a good wave form
fuel pressure is good and agrees with scan tool
request,
exhaust back pressure gauge needle dances about like there is a miss fire
it runs the same with the dpf removed and the air flow meter plugged in or not .
when i say it runs bad its lagre amounts of dark brown smoke engine coughs and stutters like a miss-fire, but its running so rich.
it this point i am lost
any ideas please
