Hello all,
Not sure if this is the right place to post but;
Have had one of the Directors BMW 3 series F30 330d's in for a smell of exhaust gases and have discovered the egr valve and exhaust gas cooler has failed and the hot exhaust gases have burned holes in the intercooler inlet pipe and burned the sound proofing on the top engine cover

Now trying to order parts from BMW and have been told, the pipe (pt No; 11617823244) is available

The exhaust gas cooler Inc egr (pt No 117178223210)cannot be supplied as it is a “Dealer only repair part"

According to the BMW dealer BMW are having big problems with these egr valves and coolers

My question is, Is this no supplying of parts to the independent trade a way of keeping things quiet or just a matter of they can't keep up with supply?

Interestingly the exhaust gas coolers are made in Korea, maybe they are waiting for the slow boat to show up with more stock
