Im sure im missing something simple but i've not done a great deal with siemens and not sure if everything works the same way as a bosch setup.
The customer has told me the car was difficult to start for a couple of days and sluggish, when he went out to go to work the following day the car wouldnt start. first thing i noticed was a lack of fuel pump hum, investigated and found the pump motor completely dead. Easy fix i thought.... replaced the pump.. pump is now working but working constantly with ignition on??? tested the low pressure fuel line and its running at 5bar... as far as im concerned it should pressure to 2.5 bar and shut off.. I figure its trying to pressure a "leaking" system.. the pressure to the rail was minimal on cranking tested with scope at rail sensor and on live data.. next i replaced the fuel pressure regulator on the pump as i've had these fail in the open position and dump all the fuel back to the tank. i now have 4500psi at the rail (according to live data) on cranking but still no start.. i have cam and crank signal.. the car is in economy mode.. Will this stop it from starting? i've had a booster pack connected but have brought the battery back to charge over night.. Any ideas please? Thanks in advance
