Removed subframe and Dpf and managed to replaced with VW egr.
Still not a nice job, took 4-5 hours from memory.
Software update done at dealer,
Haven't heard anything back from the customer / neighbour,
So assume its all ok.
I see the factors are promoting these egrs, must be a common issue.
