Year of Manufacture *: 2009
Engine Size and Code *: 2.2 BG
this car has been difficult to start and has broken down due to air in the fuel.
I first discovered one of the leak off connectors not sealing properly allowing masses of air down the return line. The return also goes back to the filter recirculating the air until the car broke down due to more air than fuel!
Once I'd fixed that I thought I that was the end of it.
The return line is now clear fuel until revved hard, and then a small amont of foaming appears which of course travels back to the tank and is deposited right next to the fuel pick up, which in turn then gets dragged back to the filter again as small air bubbles which accumulate in the filter again.
My question is: (I hope I'm not going to be shot down for this!)
Is a tiny amount of foaming acceptable or should the return be absolutely and totally free of any air on its way back to the tank?
Thanks
Colin
