Checked car over found fault code p0087 fuel rail pressure too low open circuit. started to test component's as I was testing I removed the fuel metering valve on top of pump and found a lot of debris in the pump. advice customer and I replaced high pressure pump. Car will still not start after fitting new pump. Cleared codes and now there is no codes in the engine management system but I am getting a code in the navigation system. 1048576 fuel injector9 (n299) circuit malfunction p1000 no signal/no communication-stored snap on help desk thinks this is just a ghost code.
I have scoped the injectors and they look ok In the live data shows about 4500 to 5000 psi of rail pressure when cranking. checked the fuel pressure at the filter and I am getting between 4.5 to 5 bar and it drops to about 3.5 bar coming out of the filter. I check the pressure come from the return pipe to filter and am getting about 4 bar there as well.
The car will start with a little sniff but just cuts out again. after cranking for about 10 seconds the oil light comes on and it bleeps.
Sorry for the long post just hoping someone might have come across this before and can shed a bit of light on it.
