I carried out various wiring checks today (Bloody awkward job! ) which checked out OK AFAICT.
I then removed the main ECU with a view to having it AC-troniced.
When I turned it upside down clear oil ran from the upper socket (K?)
(There was no obvious oil in the looms/plugs however)
The oil was too thin for engine oil and didn't smell (Taste! ) of diesel! (I guess it is diesel with the more volatile components evaporated off)
I was going to ask if there might be some sort of capillary issue going on here.
So....!
Is the ECU dead?
Where has the oil creapt from?
What needs to be replaced?
(Or indeed, Should I try to get the owner to pay me, within reason, for what I have done so far and for both him and me call it a day bearing in mind that it is only an old astra van?? )
