Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 2.5 Litre
( Optional ) ECU Type: EDC15C13/EDC16C36
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Autocom + ACR4 G2
( Optional) Fault Codes: As Listed
History: This vehicle had numerous faults and now is smoking (black) and will rev sluggishly but no higher than 2000 rpm. Their Snappy showed a fault code relating to the APP which was changed and the fault remains the same.
Findings: On my initial visit, the DTC's were: DF226 - Valve Induction Damper (Throttle Body) DF025 - Pre-heating Circuit (Glow Plugs) and PO120 - Throttle Pedal Sensor/Throttle Body.
DF967 - Richness Sensor ?
My homework suggested a fault with the throttle body which was removed and it was found that 3 of the wires to the circuit box on the Throttle Body were corroded and had broken. A new TB was ordered, fitted but the fault remains the same with identical DTC's.
Question: I believe that the TB has to be "initialised" to the vehicle which Autocom cannot do and I think this is a job for the Renault Clip. The garage apparently found something on the tinterweb to "initialise" the TB which involves cycling the ignition etc but does not appear to have worked. Is there a procedure for this which I can do or is it a Renault Clip only procedure? Once I have the answer to this, I can move on because I fear there is more to this than meets the eye in view of its murky repair history.
