got a touran 1.9 pd that came in for clutch and bad hot start.replaced dmf and clutch, also cleaned crank sensor and ring whilst trans was out.the problem is with hot starting, its starts ok when cold as soon as temp gets up it will crank for a bit, start and run for a few seconds then cut out There is no response from accelerator pedal either. It will do this a few times and eventually starts then pedal responds. No fault codes except for a faulty cruise control switch(that has been there for ages)here is a list of what iv checked so far
coolant temp sensor/scoped and substituted,MAF ok,cam timing, cam and crank sensors both scoped ok
,injectors removed, all seals replaced and adjusted correctly, checked waveform whilst running, all appear even,(cam and followers were replaced approx 8 months ago due to severe valve lobe wear),have set up pressure gauges on pre pump feed and test port on delivery pump.cold idle readings are pre pump 0.4 bar/delivery pump 5 bar and increases with rpm.when temp is 70 pre pump is 0.3 bar and delivery pump is 4 bar.@90 pre pump is 0.2 bar and 3.5 bar respectively. battery voltage is 14.3 all the time.switch off and leave for 5 mins, switch on and pre pump goes to 0.25 momentarily crank and delivery pump takes long time to build pressure,is this normal? is it normal to have no holding pressure?I tried hose clamp on return to create holding pressure and still no joy.I was informed that the injectors wont fire below 250rpm? so i isolated starter wiring and wired it to 18v and cranked it ,still bad starting and no pedal response for the few seconds it runs ,have also bypassed the filter housing to feed/return,still same,If i plug a cold temp sensor in when engines hot it starts much better, have noticed a very slight/sorta misfire when its idling.Any help appreciated
