I don't fully understand your roll in this diagnosis, so I may have apportioned some criticism inappropriately.

I take your point that you are not a "mechanic" but you surely have a strong background in matters of Motor Vehicle Technology yes?

Without wanting to fuel any flames further....

You wouldn't consider offering someone health care advice without the appropriate foundation training (I hope)so why is considered Okay to offer an opinion on Common Rail Diesel fault diagnosis without any suitable experience or qualification?

This kind of thing is fine, if it is advice offered in casual conversation "down the pub" so to speak. My issue is purely with guys offering repair advice & passing it off as "credible" when in reality it merely ill informed opinion, based on little or no solid understanding.

Like I said earlier, I am not sure of your roll in this repair Pete & if I have misunderstood your roll, then I am happy to apologise.
