This car was bought by a trade customer of mine with a starting fault that was diagnosed by a diesel specialist as a result of low compressions. The engine was replaced with a second hand engine from a Mondeo.

Since this engine was fitted it has never run for any length of time. It consistently logs fault code P132B - Turbo / supercharger boost control range/performance. The engine will start after some cranking, runs roughly producing loads of black smoke, starts to run cleanly and then stops. It won't respond to the throttle.

We have noticed that on other Jaguars and Mondeos, the turbo actuator operates when the ignition is switch on. This one doesn't. I've continuity checked the wiring to the turbo actuator and check CAN integrity but no faults found.

The exhaust has been disconnected before the DPF and the inlet manifold checked.

Fuel pressure sensor voltage with KOEO is 0.5v, the engine starts at 1.1V then the voltage rises to 1.9v and then it stops. Injectors have been removed and tested. A separate fuel supply has been run to the fuel pump.

The engine is fitted with Jaguar flywheel and a Mondeo turbo actuator.

This is one of those jobs thats been stuck at the back of the workshop for quite a few weeks. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this one but I'm not sure where to go from here. The major problem is that we're not sure if this is the problem with the old engine or if there is some difference between the mondeo engine management system and the Jaguars. They look the same!
