Just had a chat with a customer during the course of which he said that he suffered an engine failure about 6 months ago.

Now, at the time the vehicle was 5 up and lots of luggage on French Motorway.

Despite being out of warranty Renault stumped up 50% without complaint.

Of course they stated that this was a one off but was it?

Has anybody else come across BEB failures under full load conditions with these Engines??

Was this a one off or might there be a pattern developing. (Personally I am a bit old fashioned and am not really happy with the high specific power ratings of modern engines and particularly diesels. They look good on paper but my own feeling is that if you actually operate them at sustained high loads they might not really be up to it!)
