( Optional) Fault Codes: 01330 (p0532) & 05121 (p1401)

Just trying to clear something up in my own head. Car would only idle & appeared to have a stuck open EGR valve. Fault codes P0532 a/c refridgerant pressure sensor (G65) short to ground & P1401 EGR valve (N18) short to ground. The fault was the EGR valve stuck open with carbon but my question is this. Would the ECU see a high current draw from the EGR motor trying to shut the valve & flag this up as a "short to ground"?
