Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: F9Q
( Optional ) ECU Type: EDC16C3
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Clip
This has two symptoms, very occasional loss of power for just a second while driving and flat battery causing non start. Possibly the two symptoms are connected but equally possible they are two separate issues.
I have monitored it for current drain over a 48 hour period with no fault found. I can see no reason to fault the alt. Battery charged, checked and seems ok. No charge warning has ever been seen on the dash. I am fitting a new battery this morning and giving the car back. I had this in about a month ago and it went out with all error memories clear. The only faults logged are in the engine and pertain to the loss of power symptom.
Anyone any thoughts on common causes of Battery drain on these?
EMS has two fault codes.
DF008 2.DEF Pedal pot circuit track one. Jammed acc pedal detected.
DF226 CC Inlet flap circuit. Short circuit.
This has previously had both Inlet flap and EGR replaced.
Both codes cleared and have not returned. They were present last time I saw it too so I am working on the assumption they are relevant to the power loss issue. On the freeze frame data for the codes it shows sensor ref voltage at 3v. Live data also shows ref as being 3v while it measures as being 5v, with no fault present. I have checked this with two versions of clip. This could be a glitch in the Clip (unlikely I think) or a fault in the ECU.
Anyone ever see this?
This ref voltage may be a red herring or may be connected to the actual fault.
When the fault occurred the freeze frame shows the TPPS position %, ref v, track 1 v and track 2 v. With no fault present the live data matches these figures perfectly. I have checked the wiring from both the flap and the TPPS back to the ECU with no fault found.
Any thoughts?
TIA
