Feeling quietly hopeful, found a wire chafe for the aircon pressure switch where it was rubbing against an ally aircon pipe (I know on some vehicles this is fed from the sensor 5V supply). I have made two long test drives with no signs of the problem but a test drive tomorrow from a cold start will be the clincher! Shaun
