Replaced DRV now runs ok, and fuel rail pressure sensor scope reading a steady 1.232v, 295bar at idle.
Because the current was also fluctuating I opted for the DRV but gave more thought to the possibility of the rail pressure sensor! lucky guess?? . Must try and post waveforms next time as i have tried and failed.
