Hi all,

This blows heavy black smoke under load. It is only very slightly smokey at idle or part load. Starts good and runs well with no loss of power. On the road, the more load the more smoke. inthe workshop it is only really bad on a snap throttle.

EGR is ok.
Boost pressure is ok with no leaks. It is the old mechanical control type and I had a pressure gauge on it. The turbo blows a little oil but not excessive.
Rail pressure is as per ESI specs at idle and seems ok to me. 34mpa at idle.
Exhaust is clear.

Local Nissan dealer wanted to fit an ECU and 4 injectors because this is a common fault.
Has anyone seen this "common" fault before? I am wondering if an EMS softare update would help this? I can get my hands on a consult if need be.
