Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: 1.9 Z19DT 8V
Vauxhall Zafira Active 1.9 CDTi 2006
Z19DT 8V 60,000 miles approx
This vehicle belongs to one of my customers a Mr Haynes Google. He has the MIL up and its been code read by someone who said it relates to a glow plug fault. He has had a look in his Haynes Manual and the picture shows easy access down the back once the scuttle is removed. He telephoned the Vauxhall dealer and they quoted 2 hours labour (did not quote for parts)
He came in yesterday with 1 glow plug and asked if I could test and replace the offending glow plug, he showed me the picture in the manual and thought 2 hours by the dealer was to long, could I do it quicker
Having pulled the scuttle off, it looks an absolute nightmare, looks as if a few bits have to come off. It also looks as if the Injector pipes have to be removed as they all run across the top of the glow plugs so you cannot get directly onto them
Has anyone had the pleasure, I do not want to get involved until I can verify a time and any additional parts such as replacing injector pipes (use once only I have been told)
Many thanks
Peter
PS: Do the glow plugs come out easy or is that going to be more grief
