As said when looking in Engine ECU info the engine code was set wrongly as Y22DTR using Tech2 reset engine ECU then into SPS to suck info out onto TIS PC selected correct variant reconnected to vehicle and reloaded to engine ECU, incidently it wouldn't let me do this at first so altered last digit of VIN on TIS then when correct info in ECU went back and changed VIN number back to correct one.

Now fault code cleared for P1590 vac resevoir solenoid as it wasn't looking for a component not fitted and on road test the surging had gone as it is now loaded with the correct software map etc for the 2.0 engine.

Bit of head scratching on this one but found the problem caused by the previous person fitting the combined pump/ECU then loading with the wrong software.
