Thankyou very much for that. The info came a bit too late because I ceased faffing about with it late this morning. I have located an ignition switch feed under the bonnet and plumbed that into pin 86 of the glow plug relay. However, I have noted that the glow plug light does not illuminate. I started it OK this morning with direct feed from battery positive to pin 86 and although it started OK from cold, again I did not see the glow plug light illuminate. Tomorrow morning I intend to see what the glow plugs are doing with ignion on from cold and go from there. If there is a problem, I will try the ignition switch as you say, although I would have thought 12v is 12v wherever it comes from! Also, I shall rummage around to try and locate the immobiliser control module.
