As you may have noticed, I have fallen out with my Solus But also I Do not trust any scan tool completely, Its really unbelievable what different results you can get from different scanners, I code read a Smart four four last week after another garage had code read it with KTS with 2011 Software, The KTS came up with a code for "DEFECTIVE ECU", So I code read it with a Star machine and it came up with " Throttle sensor and MAP sensor fault codes. ??
We also compared KTS on a Vectra C (I think it was )for a intermittent fault, KTS had come up with "NO CODES STORED" and Tech 2 came up with a rail pressure monitoring fault. ???
How Companies like these can get the software so way off the mark is unbelievable.
I don't think the customer would be really happy with me fitting a new ecu only to find out that it only needed a throttle pedal sensor. ?? And Who would the Customer blame for doing the incorrect Diagnosis. ?? BOSCH,DEC, HANNATECH, SNAPON. ? ...............NO its that Tony Bloody Sefton that got it wrong and Charged me all those £££££££££££££ The B?sta?d
So in short, I would try a different code reader. ( Sorry to have ranted on ) It Might even show no fault codes, But at least it confirms your previous diagnosis.
H.T.H Tony.
