Got the above vehicle in at the moment. The vehicle black smokes under hard acceleration. One fault stored which also returns after a road test.
The fault code is 1028 exhaust gas recirculation actuator (ARF). Road tested vehicle and checked air mass readings which looked o.k, checked the egr pulse duty factor and that was operating o.k.
I checked the operation of the egr valve with a mityvac which was working o.k. There was a good vaccumn supply to the egr solenoid valve, also battery voltage at one side of the valve and a switching signal at the other. When i rev the engine stationary or drive the vhicle i never get any vaccumn to the egr valve, i would of thought i should do? I think the solenoid valve could be at fault. Any advice would be most gratefull.
