Year of Manufacture *: 2004 Engine Size and Code *: 2.5, D-4D ( Optional ) Scanner Used: Multiscan ( Optional) Fault Codes: None
Customer reports occasional stalling at idle, and after much monitoring and 'scoping of live data, I finally noted dips in the rail pressure from 300 bar, 1.69v to 200 bar, 1.34v, the engine starting to falter. It would cut out when the rail pressure dropped to 150 bar, below 1.2v. Research leads me to suspect the Suction Control Valve on the back of the pump, but I have no experience of problems with the Japanese common rail systems. Is there a definitive test for the SCV, and does this system need adapting if it is replaced? There are no codes logged and no other problems with driving. I am sure some one has been here before, TIA, Peter
