A mityvac is a good tool for checking the operation of the VGT system.
Once you are happy that the actuator appears to be working correctly Connect a suitable diagnostic tool and locate boost pressure in actual data.
Start the vehicle and run the engine at about 1300 Rpm (you may need an assistant),then operate the mityvac and watch the boost pressure change.
The boost pressure rise should be smooth and in relation to the vac applied.
