Year of Manufacture *: 2007
Engine Size and Code *: 2.8dci
( Optional ) ECU Type: EDC15 C
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Solus-Pro
On the day it broke down, it took a few more turns than usual to start, managed to get it running, but it cut out within 100 yards, and now won't start at all.
Managed to extract some codes from it with Solus-pro running 8.2 software. No live data and no code definitions though. I also have no info as regards wiring diagrams, relay positions etc. (The vehicle belongs to a friend, no way I'd have taken the job on otherwise).
The codes are as follows:-
00256 - Which I think corresponds to "Pump metering control malfunctions."
00272 - "Contribution balance fault."
00288 - "Injector short circuit" although I think this fault could be due to the rainwater which is covering the injectors due to him leaving it out in the rain with the engine exposed.
00896 - "Shift time too long.
The above faults are the ones that return after cranking. Has anyone seen them in combination before?
I haven't had chance to give the vehicle more than a cursory look over, going to get a bit more involved with it tomorrow, but I can't see any chafed wires anywhere.
Any help on this one gratefully received.
Cheers, Michael.
