Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Code or CC *: 2000
( Optional ) ECU Type: Delphi system
( Optional ) Scanner Used: IDS
Car came in as bad satrter with very poor performance. Carried out visual basic checks then DTC test with IDS, faults were EGR and turbo.
Removed and cleaned out the EGR valve of a cup full of carbon, tested vacuum and refitted.
Checked turbo and found vanes sticking not allowing the electronic controller to adjust the boost.
Erased fault memory and carried out road test, all seemed ok.
Went back to car some time later and car started fine but had no throttle response for about ten seconds then intermittent "knock" on tickover - sounds like fuel syetm advancing then settling. Checked fault memory - no faults.
Recoded injectors, drove and tried again. Still fault after left for a while of no throttle response. Checked fuel pressure etc and all seems fine.
Any advice greatfully received.
Thank you in advance.
