Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Code or CC *: 2.0 y20dth
( Optional ) ECU Type: bosch psg16 on top of pump
( Optional ) Scanner Used: vauxcom
got a 2003 vectra c 2.0td y20dth psg16 fuel pump
po243 - 04 boost pressure valve solenoid open circuit was intermittent, now permanent
car is permanently in limp, peaking at 2750 rpm
i have had the multiplug off the front end of the pump, trace back & load tested the offending blue with white tracer wire though multipliugs & it's connected & able to carry load
on a scope the offending wire shows 3.43v with a noisey pattern, if i lean on the multiplug applying mild downward pressure i can get this to 0v. i have gone through tis guided diagnostics, it concludes the boost control valve is shot, renewed that at 120 quid, no better, with vauxcom on actuators it doesn't do anything when you try to operate the valve, had another one in today, so for comparison i first did actuator test works fine, swapped the solenoid valve & r/test - no change, swap maf, as i could & it only took 2 mins. no change.
i have teslited all power feeds & earths to ecu, all ok working from tis w/diag. to confirm accuracy
my conclusion is the pump ecu is goosed but at a retail of getting up towards 2k i'm listening for anything you think i may have missed (also this car belongs to my best mate, so egg on face avoidal is paramount)
any guidance would be greatly received
Steve
