Hope someone can point me in the right direction with this one!
It came in because the engine cut out after starting (following about 20-40 seconds idling or immediately if you tried to rev the engine.
There were over 30 codes stored so I cleared them and started again. I got 1112 - rail pressure monitering. The fuel rail pressure sensor appeared to be unresponsive so I fitted a sensor we have which is intermittantly faulty. This cured the cutting out problem but the MIL light was still on and the engine was in limp mode.
The customer found a used F/R sensor which I've just fitted but now we're back to square 1!
I'm now getting Codes 1112 (again) and 1138 (pressure regulator valve - fitted to the back of the pump?)
What is throwing me is that, after the engine cuts out, it won't re-start until I cycle the C/Locking with the fob buttons. Then it re-starts and, if I've cleared the codes, it will rev to the limiter (which it wouldn't do before!). Then it will cut out and re-flag the faults.
I'm thinking faulty fuel pump but it's 'new' (Not fitted by me!). I suspect 'new' is actually 're-built'. When it was running with my F/R sensor every now and again it would make a nasty tapping sound that sounded like pre-ignition!
Still finding my way around common-rail systems so any help would be most welcome.
Cheers Guys.
