Year of Manufacture: 2011 Engine Size and Code: 1461 k9K ( Optional ) Scanner Used: GSCAN2 ( Optional) Fault Codes: P2002
Hi All
This may be fairly common but worth a mention. Had the vehicle recovered as broken down on the side of the road, barley ticks over. Code scan and P2002 which points to a blocked DPF. Customer said the MIL had been on for a week or so, general lack of power
Checking on the "Technical Bulletins" on UKAT Workshop Data for this vehicle reg under "MIL lamp on", it mentions the code P2002, this mentions a fault with the air intake pipe which splits, a new reinforced one is available. Quick check on the vehicle and nothing obvious, but pulling on the pipework the gap is relieved, in fact it was split in half but it still looked in one piece. Pipe shown below. New pipe fitted
As for cleaning the DPF, which did not look easy to remove as all nuts etc quite corroded, I gave my Tunap Rep a call and he recommended the 2 stage on car cleaning (I am always a bit wary of this type of cleaning) I ordered the kit which arived next day. My rep came in with the tool to inject through the "Temp Sensor" hole (once removed)
Half of the 1st stage cleaner is injected in bursts over 5 minutes, this is then left for 20 minutes and the second half injected in and left for a further 20 minutes
Then the flush is injected in bursts over 5 minutes and left for 20 minutes
The car then started and left to tick over for 20 minutes (at least it now starts) Then with the GSCAN a "Service Regeneration" is carried out which takes between 20-30 minutes raising the DPF temp to 650 deg
Once done any codes are cleared (they do not return) and the car is back to full power and a very happy customer
