Year of Manufacture *: 2008 Engine Size and Code *: 1600 g8db ( Optional ) ECU Type: bosh ( Optional) Fault Codes: p242f
So you want to regen dpf, or replace it, you have reset all the dpf parameters etc but you are going round and around trying to clear P242F. The car is in LIMP mode .
I tried with the WOW, LAUNCH, MODIS ULTRA, FORScan.
the fix is..
Have engine running and unplug mass air flow meter, re scan pcm and you should now have 3 codes,
plug in mass air, cycle key off, switch ignition on / engine off, clear codes.
BINGO.... p242f gone.
WHY WHY WHY should i have to create a code to clear this code ?
the other codes in this car when I got it cleared straight away.

Had the exact same fault the other week!
No matter what i tried i could not clear the fault using IDS, eventually after trying several things inc trying to find a non existent data pid for dpf ash mass, i compared the dpf pressure sensor readings on another vehicle in workshop and the sensor on problem vehicle was reading higher so swapped good sensor onto problem vehicle and code cleared and allowed a regen! So replaced sensor aswell with a new one and vehicle has been fine since.
Strange fault as you say, and not alot of data for dpf either using IDS, not sure what aftermarket tools will be like?
