Just a heads up on this one,
In two weeks ago for a service and MOT,rear pads worn out, came back today to replace.
Had a look through all my tools to see what could deal with this job and all that it entails as have been caught out before on a Ford C-max that sits here in the archives.
Verus cannot do this job, Autocom cannot do this job, DEC can, but it took two hours of my life via teamviewer with a grand lad called Scott at Maverick, in contact with Roman in Argentina, DEC's founder, to sort this one, basically, the procedure is done in three steps, hook up diag with batt support,
you then have to select "service position", for the calipers, this allows the EPB module to let go of the handbrake cables, so that the caliper pistons can be retracted, offside normal clockwise return, nearside, have to turn piston anticlockwise to return piston,
So, calipers off, pads removed and new ones fitted, off to the next step, DEC calls it "cable tighten",OK,select that with Scott watching live data, EPB then cycles cable 5 times, obviously sorting out bite point etc, etc,
At this point I have roughly half a dozen fault codes in EPD, DEC calls it secondary brake, luckily Scott from Maverick still hooked in with Roman from DEC ,I now have a dash lit up with fault codes from several systems.
Scott admitted to me today that he is a software tech for DEC,he is not a car tech, he is a software developer for DEC, he does not have a clue as to what modern cars do, but he can access Roman in Argentina to get a result, as he has done with me today .
To conclude this post, loads of faults listed in other systems, all cleared ok once primary fault sorted
Thanks for your reply Tony, this picasso is a 2014 model with the electric calipers, the snap on will go into it but when you go into handbrake service it wont connect.Typical Snapon or typical Citroen I'm not sure which.Back to the drawing board.
