Ford Focus 2005 - Remote central locking - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005 on
Engine Size and Code *: All models

Remote Central Locking Inop FIXED
Had this three times now on different cars, Fob not operating the C/L .Drop the fuse box above passengers feet and disconnect all multi plugs (we spray cleaner on them ),Refit and initialise key.

Hi George,Sorry I didn't include this as its on autodata and the hand book.Fasten both front seat belts close doors ,switch ignition from 1 to 2, 4 times within 6 seconds switch ign off and press any button on the fob within 10 seconds a beep will be heard .switch ignition on for 10 seconds to exit.

We have also done several of these and Just done another one today, This problem must be caused by something upsetting the BCM as a simple reboot cures the problem, So its nothing to do with the connections on the BCM. ( More like just powering it down and rebooting it )

All we did was Disconnect and reconnect the battery, Cycle the ignition 4 times, The drivers door was open and seat belts not fastened the buzzer sounded to say that it was in programming mode and it bleeped again when the remote was pressed.

I agree with Tony about the BCM but what causes this?.The first one we tackled I suspected a corroded fuse box(which we have seen before) so decided to take a look, when it looked ok put it back and was surprised to find it "fixed" Hence my original post.
