Hi this is my own astra which had no faults and was driving reasonably well. at 80.k as i had a bit of time this week i decided to remove the egr and clean it. what i found amazed me and i keep asking myself how was this car driving so well. when i removed the egr valve there was quite a bit of carbon which i cleaned with a knife and then with brake cleaner and a brush. i did the same with the inlet manifold and used my wife's hoover to suck the carbon out. then i removed the map sensor to find it was completly blocked the tip and also inside. i used a wynns egr cleaner to clean the parts i could't reach and i fitted a new map the car now feels more responsive and i hope it will also do more mpg the waveforms are the old and new maps
