Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 DTL 2006 - Injector codes - Fixed #
Posted by Paul Manning on March 13, 2013, 8:25 pm Recently called to this car by Diesel specialists who suspected electrical demons. Fault codes seem to be apparently random injector codes from all 4 injectors. Found ECU under the wheel arch, testing wiring back to all 4 injectors individually everything checks out ok, should at this point mention that No1 injector had been replaced-short to ground, still no joy this car would run but not idle, decided to test ECU, it went to specialists who returned it with no fault found, so still no further forward, after conversation with friend at Vauxhall dealer and armed with print out from Vauxhall we went for a change of the injector connector plugs as this is a legit mod from Vauxhall with its own Technical Bulletin, something to do with injector current arcing across the connectors, requiring an upgrade. Anyway connectors fitted and, surprise surprise, nothing changed still the same. Finally got talking to Andy at Allcar Electronics who got an ECU coded to the car before it was sent to me, fitted to the car today and adapted the CIM Module using Op COM borrowed from a friend, turned the key and lo and behold it runs perfectly. So I will probably open a can of worms but what was the point of the wasted week getting the ECU tested things are complicated enough today without having to second guess so-called tested units, it seems that on-car conditions cannot be replicated accurately on the test bench, from now on I will be trying to source a second test unit where possible as opposed to sending away for test. Anyway ranting now finished hope this is of some use to someone somewhere.
