Year of Manufacture *: 2009 / 56000 miles Engine Size and Code *: 2.1CDi / 646.982 ( Optional ) ECU Type: Bosch EDC16 ( Optional ) Scanner Used: Autologic ( Optional) Fault Codes: None
History; new EGR fitted at the dealers, they then condemed the injectors.
We found no fault codes stored, slight difference in injector leak off but minimal, all heater plugs ok then noticed looking at live data the next morning before starting the coolant at 34C, check heater plugs they were not being activated, disconnected CTS (default -40C) heater plugs activated and started instantly, new CTS fitted correct reading heater plugs activated now starting ok.
Just goes to show I normally disregard heater plugs on a 'modern' (getting old now!) common rail diesel but they aren't just there for post start smoke clearing etc but DO still play an important role for cold morning starting. This would crank for 10/15 seconds and that was last month before the cold snap
